Operation Pierce Arrow ♦ This Day in the USA ♦ August 5

My home studio is not available today as it has come under control of a regiment of Rodents of Unusual Size. The ROUS’s are in clear violation of the Geneva convention, and Hillary Clinton will be dispatchinging hubby Bill to negotiate the return of my studio shortly.

But History marches on. Today- OPERATION PIERCE ARROW.

Gulf of Tonkin Incident ♦ This Day in the USA ♦ August 4

The incidents in the Gulf OF TONKIN involving the USS MADDOX on the day of AUG 4 exponentially increased US troop involvement in the Vietnam War.

TERRORIST ATTACKS MADE BY TERMINALLY ILL PATIENTS ♦ This Day in the USA ♦ August 3

They are calling themselves the living dead.

Albert Einstein's Letter to FDR ♦ This Day in the USA ♦ August 2

Albert Einstein said: “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.” On August 2 1939- Albert Einstein sent the first of his four letters to President FDR urging him to develop the capacity for an Atomic Bomb.

And 6 years later- nearly to the day- an entire city was incinerated in an instant. Today, we have on alert, enough nuclear weaponry to extinguish all human life forms on the planet many times over.

This Einstein fella must have been a good writer.
